KitchenPal is a kitchen organization app developed by Burakhan Alptekin (Burakhan Studio). This policy explains how the app handles information when you organize groceries, pantry items, recipes, meal plans, and household activities.

1. Information you choose to add
KitchenPal stores information you enter or save, including your profile name, household details, grocery lists, pantry quantities and expiry dates, purchase history, recipes, recipe photos, favorites, meal plans, cooking progress, dietary preferences, and reminder settings. This information is used to provide the features you choose to use. Dietary preferences help personalize meals; KitchenPal is not a medical service.
2. Device storage and optional iCloud features
KitchenPal stores app data on your device. If you use iCloud backup, recovery, or household sharing, relevant kitchen records and images are also stored through Apple's CloudKit service. Apple processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy. Access depends on your iCloud account and sharing choices.
When you invite people to a shared household, those participants can access shared records according to their permissions. Share only information you want participants to see. Leaving a household or ending a share does not erase information that someone has already copied or saved elsewhere.
3. Sign in with Apple
Sign in with Apple is optional. If you use it, Apple may provide an account identifier, name, and email address according to your choices, including a private relay address. KitchenPal stores these details to identify and personalize your in-app profile. Your Apple password is not provided to KitchenPal. Sign in with Apple and your device's iCloud account serve separate purposes.
4. Photos, camera, barcode scans, and receipts
You can choose photos for recipes and products or use the camera for supported scanning features. KitchenPal uses selected images and camera input for the action you request. Receipt text recognition runs on the device to prepare editable shopping or purchase information.
A barcode lookup sends the scanned barcode to Open Food Facts or Open Products Facts to retrieve product information. Those services may receive your IP address and ordinary request information. Selected images or extracted information that you save become app records and may be included in optional iCloud backup or household sharing.
5. Recipe imports and remote images
When you import a recipe, KitchenPal requests the website or supported service associated with your chosen source. Recipe extraction and review occur on the device. Website hosts, YouTube, TikTok, image hosts, or other selected source services may receive the requested URL, your IP address, and standard network information.
YouTube imports use publicly available descriptions or metadata, rather than analyzing the video's audio or frames. If a release uses a configured YouTube proxy, the selected video identifier is sent to that service to retrieve metadata. Imported drafts remain editable before you save them.
6. Location and nearby-store reminders
If you enable location-based shopping features, KitchenPal asks for the relevant iOS location permission. Location is used for features such as nearby-store suggestions and store reminders; saved store information may include a name and coordinates. You can revoke location access in iOS Settings and disable these features. We do not use location for advertising.
7. Notifications, Live Activities, Siri, and Apple Watch
With your permission, KitchenPal schedules reminders and cooking timers. Live Activities may display shopping or cooking details on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Consider your device's notification and preview settings if those details are private.
If you use Siri to add an item, Apple's services handle the voice interaction and provide the app action. If you use the Apple Watch companion, KitchenPal transfers relevant kitchen records, thumbnails, shopping changes, and cooking state between your paired devices through Apple's WatchConnectivity service.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
Apple processes in-app payments. KitchenPal uses StoreKit purchase and entitlement information to unlock paid features and restore access. KitchenPal does not receive your full payment card details.
When RevenueCat is enabled in a release, it receives an app-generated customer identifier, purchase and subscription information, and technical information needed to synchronize subscription access. KitchenPal's subscription integration does not send your recipes, pantry records, grocery lists, profile name, or email address to RevenueCat. Its privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
9. Advertising and sharing with service providers
KitchenPal does not include third-party advertising or cross-app advertising tracking in the current app implementation. We do not sell your kitchen records or use them for targeted advertising.
Information may be processed by Apple, enabled subscription services, product lookup providers, and the websites or content services you choose to access, for the functions described above. Network requests expose ordinary technical information, such as an IP address, to the destination service.
10. Retention and your controls
KitchenPal keeps saved records while you retain them in the app. You can edit or delete records, manage household sharing, disconnect your Apple profile, and revoke camera, photo, location, and notification permissions in device settings.
Disconnecting a profile or deleting the app does not automatically delete optional iCloud copies, shared records, Apple-managed backups, or subscription records. CloudKit synchronization uses deletion markers and recovery snapshots; deletion may require synchronization and does not necessarily remove recovery information immediately. Unreferenced cloud images are eligible for cleanup after a waiting period. Manage Apple backups and subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
For help with deletion, access, correction, or a privacy request, email hello@burakhan.studio. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, or sensitive household records in an initial support email.
11. Support correspondence
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include. We use it to respond to your request and resolve support issues, and retain it only as needed for that purpose and applicable obligations.
12. Security and international processing
KitchenPal uses iOS app storage protections and Apple's cloud and account services. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Apple and other service providers may process information in countries other than your own under their respective privacy policies.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, and to contact your local data protection authority. Contact us for requests concerning information we control.
13. Children
KitchenPal is designed for general household organization and is not directed specifically at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, contact hello@burakhan.studio so we can investigate and address the request.
14. Changes
We may update this policy as KitchenPal's features or data practices change. The date at the top will identify the latest version.
